The Graduate Pharmacy Intern is a final-year Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) student who is completing pharmacy school requirements and is eligible for or actively awaiting pharmacist licensure examinations. Under the supervision of a Kansas-licensed pharmacist, the Graduate Pharmacy Intern supports safe, accurate, and compliant pharmacy operations in both in-patient and outpatient pharmacy practice settings while preparing for transition to licensed pharmacist status. The Graduate Pharmacy Intern will work under the direction of the Executive Director of Pharmacy. Duties may include but are not limited to: Able to work as a member of a team and also independently. Understand and follow safe work practices. Ensure that all Amberwell procedures are followed in accordance with established policies. Assist licensed pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications in compliance with Kansas Board of Pharmacy regulations, federal law, and facility policies Perform prescription processing, data entry, labeling, compounding, and medication preparation under pharmacist supervision Support both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy workflows, as assigned Provide patient/customer service, including responding to non-clinical inquiries and referring clinical questions to the supervising pharmacist Assist with medication reconciliation, medication therapy support, and patient education as permitted by Kansas law Participate in immunization services and other clinical activities if authorized by licensure and training Maintain accurate documentation in pharmacy information systems and patient records Assist with inventory management, ordering, storage, and expiration monitoring Adhere to HIPAA requirements, medication safety standards, and quality assurance programs Participate in training, professional development, and operational improvement initiatives ABOUT AMBERWELL HEALTH: Amberwell Health is a healthcare system dedicated to improving the health and wellness of the communities we serve, providing compassionate healthcare with clinical excellence.
