Get to Know Your Team: Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Requirements

  • B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • 3+ year’s hospital pharmacy experience with 2+ year’s supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Other applicable state requirements – i.e., sterile compounding, etc.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in the legal responsibilities of the pharmacist to the facility and all state and federal laws and regulations governing pharmacy services.
  • Experience working in Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Record Systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
  • 5+ year’s hospital pharmacy experience.
  • ALS/ACLS certification. (Required if attending Code Blue).

Responsibilities

  • The director of pharmacy plans, organizes, controls, and supervises activities in hospital pharmacy according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and State and Federal laws.
  • Recommends innovations in the practice and function of the hospital pharmacy to the Administration and carries out mutually agreed upon programs and corporate initiatives.
  • In addition, the director of pharmacy should provide support, mentoring, and oversight of the activities of the clinical pharmacists and supportive personnel on staff.
