About The Position

The Pharmacy Director is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for all pharmacy operations. This includes the supervision, training, and evaluation of pharmacy staff, as well as overseeing daily dispensing and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. The role requires direct management of the 340B Drug Pricing Program, including eligibility, billing, inventory management, and replenishment processes. The Pharmacy Director will collaborate with finance, compliance, and third-party administrators to reconcile claims, monitor savings, and resolve billing discrepancies. Additionally, the position involves preparing reports for leadership and regulatory agencies regarding pharmacy operations and 340B performance, leading internal and external audits, and developing pharmacy policies and quality improvement initiatives. The Pharmacy Director will also partner with clinical providers to support medication therapy management and chronic disease management, monitor pharmacy performance using key performance indicators, and represent pharmacy services in leadership meetings.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required.
  • Current, unrestricted Ohio pharmacist license required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of pharmacy experience with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the 340B Drug Pricing Program required.
  • Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), hospital, or multi-site healthcare organization preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for all pharmacy operations, including supervision, training, and evaluation of pharmacy staff.
  • Oversee daily dispensing and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Direct and manage the 340B Drug Pricing Program, including eligibility, billing, inventory management, and replenishment processes.
  • Ensure program compliance with HRSA, OPA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with finance, compliance, and third-party administrators (TPAs) to reconcile claims, monitor savings, and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Prepare reports for leadership and regulatory agencies regarding pharmacy operations and 340B performance.
  • Lead internal and external 340B audits and implement corrective action plans as required.
  • Develop, implement, and update pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with clinical providers to support medication therapy management, patient counseling, and chronic disease management.
  • Monitor pharmacy performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, efficiency, compliance, and patient satisfaction.
  • Represent pharmacy services in leadership meetings and assist with strategic planning to expand access to affordable medications.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including wholesalers, payers, and contracted pharmacies.
  • Participate in staff development program according to Agency policies and procedures.
  • Report all unusual incidents and accidents according to Agency procedures.
  • Participate in Agency health and safety practices and drills.
  • Attend all scheduled staff meetings, supervision meetings and committee meetings as designated.
  • Uphold all Agency policies, procedures, and regulations; support the overall mission and philosophy of the Agency.
  • Maintain harmonious relations within and outside the Agency in conducting Agency business.
  • Maintain professional appearance at all times with regard to appropriate office attire.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.
