  • Registers sales on assigned cash register, providing courteous and efficient checkout service.
  • Assists the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Models and shares customer service best practices with team members.
  • Provides customers with friendly, fast, and efficient service.
  • Recommends items for sale and trade-up or companion items to customers.
  • Processes customer purchases, collects cash, and manages returns and exchanges.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, takes inventory, and checks in merchandise.
  • Performs duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, including entering patient and drug information and filling prescriptions.
  • Reports prescription errors to the pharmacist and adheres to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
  • Handles telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention.
  • Processes manual claims for third-party prescription services and performs clerical duties as assigned.
  • Assists with inventory management activities, including ordering and storing pharmaceuticals.
  • Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
  • Constructs and maintains displays for promotional and seasonal merchandise.
  • Assists with food item separation and stock rotation.
  • Provides customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo services.
  • Assumes web pick-up responsibilities and monitors orders.
  • Ensures clean and orderly store conditions and appearance.
  • Complies with company policies and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
  • Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions.
  • Prefer good computer skills.
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Prefer PTCB certification.
