About The Position

The Pharmacy Courier supports the mission of the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) by ensuring the secure, accurate, and timely delivery of prescription medications and pharmacy-related supplies to patients, health center sites, and affiliated community partners. This position plays a vital role in promoting access to care, continuity of treatment, and positive patient outcomes while adhering to all federal, state, and organizational regulations, including HRSA requirements, HIPAA, and Florida Board of Pharmacy standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Florida driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to pass background screening, drug screening, and driving record verification
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift, carry, and transport up to 25 pounds
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with sensitivity to diverse and underserved populations

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an FQHC, community health center, or healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of HRSA, HIPAA, OSHA, and Florida pharmacy regulations
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR), pharmacy systems, or delivery tracking tools
  • Bilingual skills helpful in serving diverse patient populations

Responsibilities

  • Deliver prescription medications and pharmacy supplies between the health center pharmacy, satellite clinics, partner organizations, and patient residences as assigned
  • Verify patient identifiers, delivery documentation, and chain-of-custody requirements prior to transport
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA and FQHC policies
  • Follow established procedures for medication handling, storage, and transportation, including temperature control and security protocols
  • Obtain required signatures and proof of delivery to ensure accurate documentation and audit readiness
  • Communicate delivery status, delays, or discrepancies promptly to pharmacy and clinical leadership
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing pharmacy operations and medication transport
  • Adhere to health center safety standards, infection control policies, and vehicle operation procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of assigned delivery vehicles
  • Support pharmacy and health center operations through internal deliveries or administrative assistance as needed
