As a Pharmacy Clinical Specialist in Neuro Critical Care, you will provide advanced, decentralized pharmaceutical care within one of the nation’s highest-acuity critical care environments. Serving the Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NICU), you will manage the acute and ongoing medication needs of complex neurological patients through therapeutic drug monitoring, medication reconciliation, safety optimization and cost-effective pharmacotherapy planning. Collaboration is essential, as you will work closely with a large, team-oriented group of critical care pharmacists and interdisciplinary providers across the neurological ICU. In this role, you will also precept APPE students and PGY1/PGY2 residents, contribute to research and departmental projects, and represent pharmacy on key committees. A caregiver in this role works a primary day shift of 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. The position includes a rotating every-8th-weekend requirement, with approximately four evening rotation weeks per year. Caregivers are also expected to work one holiday per year.

Requirements

• PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy
• If hired for a specialty area where specialty residency training is available, then specialty residency is required
• Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) OR eligible for reciprocation in the current state within 90 days of hire
• Completion of a post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or fellowship OR completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY-1) and two years of experience as a clinical specialist or an equivalent role providing pharmaceutical care and performing pharmaceutical monitoring OR four years of experience as a clinical specialist or an equivalent role providing pharmaceutical care and performing pharmacotherapeutic monitoring
• For individuals required to administer immunizations: current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire
• For individuals required to respond to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest events: current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross or certification obtained within 1 year of hire
