As a caregiver on the Pharmacy Critical Care team, you'll play a vital role in advancing patient care across medical, surgical, cardiac and neurological multidisciplinary services. Your day will include engaging in rounds with providers, performing order verification to support safe and effective treatment, collaborating closely with colleagues to ensure seamless transitions of care and opportunities for education, research and quality work. In this dynamic role, you'll have opportunity to work in specialized medical ICUs such as Pulmonary, Oncology, Liver, the Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute (HVTI) ICUs specializing in cardiac and cardiothoracic care, Surgical ICU teams (including Transplant), and Neuro ICU teams. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced environment while building strong clinical and collaborative expertise.

  • Routinely and continually provide pharmaceutical care for patients, considering their age and clinical condition.
  • Provide general and patient specific drug information to patients, physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals.
  • Support Clinical Pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to patients by direct interaction and formal educational programs.
  • Maintain expertise in areas of practice through continual learning, journal review and other educational activities.
  • Educate Clinical Pharmacists, Technicians, Pharmacy Students, Post-Graduate Trainees and other caregivers in Pharmacotherapy within the specialty area.
  • PharmD or Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible within 90 days of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire (if administering immunizations).
  • Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 2 Residency (PGY2) or fellowship OR completion of a Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency (PGY-1) and two years of experience as a Clinical Specialist or an equivalent role, including providing pharmaceutical care and performing pharmacotherapeutic monitoring for at least 50% of time in the specialty area OR four years of experience as a Clinical Specialist or an equivalent role, including providing pharmaceutical care and performing pharmacotherapeutic monitoring for at least 50% of time in the specialty area.
  • Board certification.
  • Prior experience working in critical care.
