A pharmacy clerk is responsible for handling basic administrative duties within a pharmacy. Typically, they communicate with customers to inform them of available prescriptions, sort medications using the pharmacy's organization system and inform the pharmacist of medications that require restocking. They also handle patient files, which involves updating patient files with new prescriptions, insurance or personal information. Pharmacy clerks work under the supervision of a pharmacist. Complies with applicable policies and procedures. Contributes to organizational operations by performing other duties as may be required.
