The Pharmacy Clerk position is a non-exempt role that provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service while ensuring the cleanliness of the department. The clerk will order products and supplies and log invoices as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
  • Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner.
  • Makes an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name whenever possible.
  • Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach products, loading/unloading heavy items, and passing along customer suggestions.
  • Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service.
  • Stocks received products and supplies and marks stickers accordingly.
  • Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Reviews prescriptions that are not picked up as requested by the department manager.
  • Orders product and supplies at the department manager's request.
  • Reviews invoices on products received.
  • Coordinates nursing home medicines as necessary.
  • Logs invoices as necessary.
  • Prepares paperwork and compiles medicine for delivery orders and mail outs.
  • Cleans and maintains the pharmacy's appearance.
  • Takes orders for refills from customers.
  • Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
  • Gathers patient information required to prepare prescriptions.
  • Keeps pharmacy supplies well stocked.
  • Performs cash transactions.
  • Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
  • Administers vaccines as allowed by law.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Over six months to one year of similar or related experience.
  • If applicable, vaccination certification as required by law.
  • Ability to follow written, verbal or diagrammatic instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.
  • Ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data from one record to another.
