About The Position
The pharmacy buyer/technician is responsible for the selection, procurement, and distribution of pharmaceuticals with the advice and direction of SJH pharmacists. This role involves determining items to be ordered based on pre-established pars or utilization, serving as a liaison between wholesalers, vendors, GPO, and the department, and placing orders daily. The technician will also enter purchase order information into the SJH MM computer module, verify received items, maintain relationships with vendors, and participate in annual inventory. The position requires familiarity with procedures for uninterrupted supply and distribution of medications, as well as the ability to perform aseptic manipulation of sterile products under supervision.
