About The Position

This position will be responsible for monitoring and updating the split billing software system, and auditing hospital and contract pharmacy records. Requires a strong knowledge of the 340B program and the strict regulatory requirements associated with it. This position also requires the ability to execute special projects and assist with other duties as directed to meet departmental needs.

Requirements

  • Must be fully licensed in the state of Michigan as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Intermediate Excel
  • Familiarity with computer program that manages 340B program (i.e. Sentry System)
  • Demonstrate ability to learn complicated processes and tasks and how to apply that learning to new situations.
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Good understanding or ability to learn interaction between Carousel, Pyxis, Billing, Drug Distribution and 340B splitting Software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years as Pharmacy Technician
  • High School Diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Excel and experience in 340B auditing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Must have strong understanding of the 340B drug pricing program and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for accurate maintenance of the 340B splitting software.
  • Maintain correct NDC Cross reference in split billing software.
  • Add new drugs and update product changes to splitting software daily.
  • Add shorts back into Split Billing Software Accumulators.
  • Ensure the purchase and dispense units (multipliers) are correct in the split billing software.
  • Ensure that drugs dispensed through the 340B program are replenished with the same 11 digit NDC.
  • Review Unknowns weekly and update to correct NDC Cross reference in Split Billing Software.
  • Complete regional quarterly audits matching purchases, dispense documentation, and billing.
  • Complete monthly contract pharmacy audits matching purchases, dispense documentation, and billing.
  • Work in conjunction with Pharmacy Buyer to ensure data match between Pharmacy Carousel and Split Billing Software.
  • Review WAC purchases in conjunction with Pharmacy Buyer to identify reason and make necessary corrections.
  • Suggest and participate in process improvement opportunities in the performance of duties.
  • Notifies supervisor of potential and actual safety issues. Prevents and takes corrective action of physical safety, sanitation and infection control within work area.
