Pharmacy Assistant - CoverMyMeds LLC Job Summary: CoverMyMeds LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Pharmacy Assistant to support our pharmacy operations. This role involves assisting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in various tasks to ensure efficient prescription processing and exceptional patient care.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Commitment to maintaining patient privacy and adhering to ethical standards.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a pharmacy setting (retail, hospital, or long-term care) preferred.
- Basic understanding of pharmaceutical terminology and medication names is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with prescription intake, data entry, and labeling.
- Manage inventory, including stocking shelves, organizing medications, and monitoring expiration dates.
- Process prescription refills and communicate with prescribers' offices for clarification or authorization.
- Prepare and package medications for dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, record-keeping, and generating reports.
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive and supportive experience for all patients.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality.
