The Infirmary Unit provides inpatient care with 24-hour nursing coverage in a 13-bed unit and provides medical management for 1400+ inmates. The Pharmacy Assistant supports the medication delivery system at the Montana State Prison to ensure medications are ordered, processed and delivered in a timely manner. Maintains patients’ records, assists in processing medication orders and tracks delivery of medications from the mail-order pharmacy vendor. Ensure that inmates are transferred to various locations in the system and those discharged from the system have an adequate supply of medication. Reports to the Director of Nursing or designated nursing supervisor and provides administrative support function to same.
