About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proficiency in basic computer skills and the ability to learn pharmacy software quickly.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a pharmacy setting or related healthcare field preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions, including counting, pouring, and labeling medications.
• Maintain accurate patient records and prescription information within the pharmacy system.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including receiving, stocking, and organizing medications and supplies, and identifying expired or damaged products.
• Process prescription refills and new prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Handle incoming phone calls, address patient inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with the prior authorization process, including data entry and communication with healthcare providers.
• Ensure the pharmacy workspace is clean, organized, and compliant with all safety and sanitation standards.
• Perform administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
• Provide friendly and helpful customer service to patients, addressing questions and concerns as appropriate.
