About The Position

Position Summary: The Pharmacy Internship program is a progressive program designed to prepare pharmacy students to function as fully competent pharmacists upon completion. Pharmacy Students are provided opportunities to experience distributive and clinical activities to enhance their formal education. Per NYS regulations, all activities performed by a pharmacy student are supervised by a licensed pharmacist. The supervising pharmacist assumes the responsibility for training the student. Key Responsibilities: • Performs all functions of the Pharmacy Assistant and Pharmacy Technician job descriptions • Develops project management skills. • Works independently to complete projects as assigned. • Develops good oral and written communication skills • Able to collect and analyze data. • Participates in own performance review. • Is open to constructive feedback and integrates recommendations to practice. • Contributes to a positive working relationship with members of the healthcare team. • Maintains an environment that respects cultures, economic, ethnic, and life style differences of patient, visitors and staff. • Participates individually and with teams in effort to continuously improve quality. Minimum Qualifications: • The Pharmacy Student must be enrolled in a college of pharmacy that has been accredited by the ACPE (Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education). A college of pharmacy that has been granted preaccreditation status (precandidate or candidate status) by the ACPE will be considered accredited for the purposes of this internship program. Required Licensure/Certification Skills: • License not required upon hire; must receive permit by end of 1st year of pharmacy school. PAY RANGE: $18.50 - $18.50 CITY: Rochester POSTAL CODE: 14621 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
