Position Summary: The incumbent serves as a resource and for the design, development and implementation of integrated institutional system applications and programming designed to bridge health informatics with charge capture, billing requirements and workflow for Pharmacy related services. Incumbent provides analysis, quality assurance, reporting consultation and recommendations in support of pharmacy revenue cycle management functions including programming modifications, clinical interpretations and education, needs assessment for revenue protection, audit and analysis. Incumbent regularly interacts with all levels of management and staff to provide education on the various system applications, reporting capabilities and modifications to workflow.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of interface communication systems and data
  • Thorough knowledge and application of Administration, billing application, and regulatory compliance relative to Pharmacy practices in a hospital setting
  • Strong skills in report development, dashboard design, and various software tools specific to healthcare revenue cycle management
  • Strong knowledge of process improvement protocols
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interpret and convey complex financial information in a clear, concise manner
  • Proven ability to work with managers, serving as a technical resource and providing recommendations and advice on regulatory changes and industry trends and developments in revenue cycle management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Minimum one year inpatient hospital experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of workflows and systems and propose innovative solutions
  • Demonstrated skills in common database, spreadsheet, and presentation software
  • Demonstrated experience working with Pharmacy distributors
  • Demonstrated competency in 340B purchasing and billing
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, effective time management, and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and effectively address complex, urgent issues as they arise
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on complex projects in a team environment
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Ability to prepare compelling and informative reports and presentations
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • 1-2 years experience working with Pharmacy system applications, programming, and data integration in a billing and clinical information systems
  • Previous experience working with EPIC Willow
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
