About The Position

The position involves various duties related to pharmacy operations, including refilling automated dispensing cabinets, filling unit dose carts, and answering/screening telephone calls. The individual will be responsible for delivering pharmaceuticals to nursing units and automated dispensing cabinets, replenishing floor stock items, and restocking pharmacy dispensing areas. Additionally, the role includes obtaining and organizing supplies for pharmacist compounding, repackaging bulk supplies, and maintaining and cleaning equipment used in the pharmacy. Light housekeeping duties are also part of the job. A working knowledge of acceptable methods and practices for receiving, storing, and issuing pharmaceutical supplies is essential. The candidate must be able to understand and carry out both oral and written instructions and be capable of bending, lifting, climbing, stooping, and kneeling.

Requirements

• High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma
• One year of experience assisting with the filling of medical prescriptions under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist
• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
• Certificate or diploma from a pharmacy technician training program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists
