About the position

This position is for a professional nurse within the Federal service, specifically targeting candidates who meet the educational and licensure requirements as outlined. The role involves providing direct nursing care, assessing patient health conditions, and participating in patient-centered medical home initiatives. Responsibilities

• Provides direct professional nursing care to patients.
• Reviews history of medical care and assesses current health conditions.
• Evaluates the ability of patients to self-care.
• Administers medication in accordance with the plan of care.
• Assists providers with procedures.
• Participates in patient-centered medical home by providing care coordination based on patient needs.
• Assists patients in establishing health goals and provides education to improve health outcomes.

Requirements

• A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program.
• Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.
• Experience in providing clinical and procedural nursing interventions.
• Knowledge of pharmaceuticals and ability to recognize adverse signs and symptoms.

Nice-to-haves

• Possession of a master's degree in professional nursing.
• Eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement provision.
• Completion of at least one full year of graduate education in a professional nursing educational program.
