About The Position

Join Curexa Pharmacy, an FDA 503A-compliant pharmacy, to deliver safe, accurate dispensing and high-quality patient care in a fast-paced retail and compounding environment. You’ll counsel patients, oversee support personnel, maintain regulatory compliance (USP 795, USP 800, NJ Board of Pharmacy), and drive operational excellence. PIC track available for qualified candidates.

Requirements

  • BS Pharm or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Active New Jersey Pharmacist license in good standing; CE maintained; license displayed per regulations.
  • NAPLEX & MPJE passed; internship requirements met; criminal background check & fingerprinting; Medicare exclusion list clearance; pre-employment drug screening.
  • Exceptional accuracy, organization, and stress management.
  • Strong customer service and communication; ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Proficient with pharmacy software and third-party billing.
  • Solid knowledge of medications (indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects).
  • Infection control and quality/safety standards; problem-solving and concise research-backed decision-making.
  • Pharmacy math (ratios, proportions, conversions, percentages; metric system).
  • English required

Nice To Haves

  • 3–5 years in Retail, Independent, or Clinical pharmacy preferred.
  • Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately fill and check prescriptions; monitor allergies, interactions, and therapeutic appropriateness.
  • Provide proactive patient counseling on Rx/OTC use, administration, storage, side effects, and returns/complaints policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Adhere to Curexa SOPs, NJ Board of Pharmacy regulations, federal laws, and accreditation standards (USP 795, USP 800).
  • Manage inventory and controls (including DEA Schedule II), PMP usage, will-call purges, special orders, and reverse distribution of outdated meds.
  • Document and resolve patient complaints; utilize APMS (PQC) for workflow analysis.
  • Support safe opening/closing procedures (alarms, keys, fire protocols).
  • Supervise pharmacy support personnel within scope (technicians, interns/externs, coordinators).
  • Provide training, feedback, and re-training to sustain quality and productivity.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Sales to optimize workflow, service, and growth.
  • Ensure ingredients meet identity/quality/purity; maintain complete compounding records.
  • Validate critical processes; maintain suitable environment; apply beyond-use dating based on stability data.
  • Supervise compounding tasks (ingredient verification, quantities, finished label); delegate allowed tasks appropriately.
  • Advise patients when preparations are compounded; comply with FDA 21 CFR 216.24 (no withdrawn/removed drugs; limits on commercially available products).
