This is a PRN Position Compensation Range: $64.07 to $96.10 Position Classification: Non-exempt Essential Functions and Basic Duties Position Specific Performance Expectations: Assists with preparing and compounding sterile IV preparations, including Chemotherapy. Provides accurate, consistent, customer focused patient care. Positive and supportive team member to Pharmacy Department. Participates in interdepartmental process improvements and process evaluation efforts. Ability to work independently and handle stress appropriately. Works cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff. Handles frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Sets priorities, makes critical decisions, and responds quickly to emergency requests. Participates in interdepartmental process improvements and process evaluation efforts. Strives to ensure continual compliance with Departmental and Hospital policies and procedures and State and Federal regulations. Develops and maintains departmental policies. Supports new pharmacy programs which include but not limited to: Infusion Clinic, Anticoagulation Clinic, CPOE, USP 797, Bar Code Technology, and other hospital wide initiatives and implementation affecting the Pharmacy Department. Coordinates, strengthens and integrates Pharmaceutical Technologies (exp: Alaris, USP 797, Pyxis, CII Safe and EPIC). Provides for the educational needs of pharmacy staff and other health care professionals. Works with nursing service and other departments that deliver medications to ensure safe delivery. Maintains active institutional licensure requirements of Colorado State Board of Pharmacy. Assists the hospital to monitor and report Drug Utilization information, adverse drug reactions and medication administration events. Assists in after-hours Pharmacy call and vacation coverage. Performs other duties as assigned. Secondary Duties Completes annual education, training, in-service, and certification requirements; attends departmental staff meetings or reads meeting minutes. Maintains regulatory requirements. Responsible for maintaining required licenses and certifications. Performs other duties as assigned. Utilizes initiative; strives to maintain steady level of productivity; self-motivated; manages activity and time. Actively participates in departmental and facility performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be able to legally work in the United States. Must be able to pass a background check. Must be able to pass a drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable). Must complete employee health meeting. Education/Licensure/Certification : Unencumbered License/Certification for State of Colorado (or license eligible within stated timeframe.) Current BLS or ACLS. Experience: Hours as required for Pharmacy License.
