About The Position

Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire a Pharmacist for our Fort Washington Medical Center location, who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Pharmacist you will: Prepares and dispenses medications. Utilizes pharmacy support personnel. Provides in service education for physicians, nurses, and other practitioners Performs pharmacy functions to assure safe and effective medication delivery to the Nursing Department Designs, recommends, monitors, and evaluates patient-specific pharmacotherapy. Helps assure adherence to medication-use policies Participates in the formulary process. Complies with all accreditation, regulatory and safety requirements. Maximizes work efficiency with use of technology. Responds to requests for drug information. Ensures continuity of pharmaceutical care. Participates in departmental performance improvement program. Mains confidentiality of patient information. Participates in the process for assessing, managing and reporting medication errors. Manages time effectively.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle multi-task environment and medical emergencies.
  • Basic PC skills such as Microsoft Word and department specific software programs.
  • Ability to communicate verbally in good English.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy (BS/PharmD degree)
  • Current Maryland Pharmacist license required

Nice To Haves

  • Strongly Preferred: Minimum one year of hospital pharmacy practice
  • Considered: Recent graduate w/ minimum 2 years hospital pharmacy technician/intern experience; or non-hospital pharmacist experience, with counseling and medication therapy management
  • Supervisory/management experience not required but welcome
