About The Position

1. Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders. Detects
any therapeutic incompatibilities. (50%)
2. Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging and labeling (5%)
3. Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies, advises interventions
when necessary. (5%)
4. Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing
technician’s workflow. Verifies their preparation and labeling of
pharmaceuticals, order entries, charges, and inspections. (15%)
5. Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of
health care professionals. Counsel’s patients on drug therapies. (15%)
6. Complies with federal and state drug laws as regulated by the state board of
pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug
administration. (5%)
7. Maintains records for controlled substances. Removes outdated and damaged
drugs from the pharmacy inventory. (5%)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
• Current Michigan Pharmacist license, BLS Certification
• Computer skills.
• Knowledge of Pharmacy program literacy.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.
• Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for an entire workday.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and twist while holding up to 25 lbs. frequently.
• Full-time or Part-time; Flexible and varied as assigned.

Nice To Haves

• Previous supervisory experience of Pharmacy staff, preferred.
• Strong familiarity with issues of compliance for state and federal regulations.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English preferred).
