Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders. Detects any therapeutic incompatibilities. (50%) Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging and labeling (5%) Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies, advises interventions when necessary. (5%) Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technician’s workflow. Verifies their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, order entries, charges, and inspections. (15%) Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals. Counsel’s patients on drug therapies. (15%) Complies with federal and state drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration. (5%) Maintains records for controlled substances. Removes outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory.
