About The Position

This position is located with the 1st Special Operations Medical Group, Hurlburt Field Air Force Base, Florida. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Salary negotiation MAY be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Pharmacist Salary Range: $74,678 to - $97,087 per year Benefits: https://civilianmedicaljobs.com/benefits/ The 1st Special Operations Medical Group provides the highest quality medical care, community and workplace medical surveillance, and preventive medicine to over 13,000 beneficiaries. The 1st Special Operations Medical Group maintains the health of approximately 13,000 beneficiaries to ensure a vital and fit force, deployable to any location, and primary care for active duty family members, and retirees and their family members. The 1st SOMDG is made up of two squadrons, the 1st Special Operations Operational Medical Readiness Squadron, 1st Special Operations Health Care Operational Squadron and the 1st Special Operations Medical Support Squadron.

  • Basic Requirement for Pharmacist:Education: A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
  • Qualification: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree, Ph.D., Pharm.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
  • NOTE: You MUST submit a copy of your transcript with your application package or you will be rated ineligible.
  • Exemption: You are exempt from the requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0660 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before.
  • Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status.
  • Licensure: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, a territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia.

  • Medical Requirement: Must be able to distinguish basic colors

Responsibilities

  • Perform wide-range of conventional to complex pharmaceutical responsibilities.
  • Document pharmaceutical care activities in the medical record as appropriate.
  • Conduct medication reconciliation, reviews the prescription profile for redundant therapies, and discontinues medications with remaining refills when appropriate.
  • Oversee technician staff that process and fill prescriptions and/or sterile and non-sterile pharmaceuticals.
  • Conduct educational programs in the areas of drug therapy for patients.
  • Interview patients to address for drug allergies and past adverse medication reactions.
  • Screen for drug interactions and reviews pertinent laboratory results when necessary as part of the prescription verification process.
