About The Position

Evaluates physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions Maintains patient database to include appropriate current and past medical history, appropriate clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medication Ensures that appropriate laboratory tests for monitoring certain high-risk conditions are ordered, evaluated and discussed with appropriate members of the healthcare team Obtains, as necessary, and maintains all required documentation in accordance with federal and state regulatory agencies and policy Informs the Pharmacist in Charge of medication related errors Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy is required
  • Knowledge of principals related to pharmaceutical preparation and practices
  • Candidates must be fully licensed and in good standing to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware

Nice To Haves

  • Two years' experience as a pharmacist, long-term care pharmacy preferred
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Detail oriented; goal oriented, team player, oral communication
  • A combination of comprehensive therapeutic knowledge, problem-solving skills, and judgment is necessary
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others; comprehension of the current standards of pharmacy practice; and understanding of the challenges of professional pharmacy practice
  • Ability to master computer/software applications necessary for completing job tasks as required
  • Ability to manage multiple employees and workloads at once and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
