About The Position

Combines medications and chemicals for specific use at Cincinnati Eye Institute and other facilities. Follows USP 797 guidelines, PCAB, FDA, and State of Ohio Regulations.

Requirements

  • Requires a Master's in Science in Pharmacy from an accredited school or equivalent, with 2 years of Pharmacy experience.
  • Ohio License required
  • At least 2 years of pharmacy experience required. Knowledge of dosages, interactions, and side effects of medications required.

  • Travel to other site locations may be necessary. Thus, those needing to travel for work must have access to dependable transportation, and driving record must meet company liability carrier standards
  • Specialty knowledge of systems relating to job function
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines

Responsibilities

  • Compound, weigh, and record chemicals before combining to meet dosage requirements.
  • Work with pharmacies to ensure a proper understanding of their needs.
  • Maintain a drug inventory and provide counseling to physicians.
  • Conduct and recommend stability studies on formulations. Review analytical work done by independent labs.
  • Prepare for and assist audits by the FDA and DEA
  • Assists with monthly planning and making daily assignments for the Pharmacy Staff.
  • Maintain knowledge of medications' dosages, interactions, and side effects per symptoms and treatments.
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer service.
  • Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization, as defined by management.
