About The Position
The University of Miami UHealth at SoLé Mia opening September 2025 , will bring high-quality academic medicine to North Miami, Aventura, and surrounding communities. The University of Miami UHealth – Pharmacy Department at SoLé Mia has an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacist.
Requirements
- Pharm.D. degree
- Certification in relevant specialty or field
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
- Skill in collecting, organizing and analyzing data.
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
Responsibilities
- Implements and maintains procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policies and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal.
- Compounds and dispenses medications , as prescribed by doctors and dentists, by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients .
- Calculates the volume of medication to produce the desired resul ts to ensure proper dosages.
- Assesses the identity, strength , and purity of medications.
- Reviews presc riptions to en sure accuracy, ascerta in the needed ingredients, and evaluate suitability.
- Provides information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage , a nd storage.
- Analyzes prescription trends to mo nitor patient compliance and prevent inappropriate usage or harmful interactions.
- Maintains records, such as p harmacy and system files, patient profiles, inventories, control records for radio active nuclei, and registries for poisons, narcotics, and controlled drugs.
- Advises customers on the selection of medic ation brands, medical equipment, and health care supplies.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
