How you'll contribute A Pharmacist who excels in this role: Manages drug therapy protocols as part of an interdisciplinary team. Reviews, interprets, and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve drug-related problems. Provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, patients, and pharmacy students. Documents interventions and outcomes for drug therapy quality improvement. Verifies medication orders for accuracy/completeness prior to entry; checks filled medications prepared by technicians; maintains proficiency with pharmacy automated systems and software. Requirements

  • Current license with the VA state Board of Pharmacy.
  • BCLS
  • Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in stressful environments.
  • Rapid learning and navigation of multiple pharmacy/clinical software systems.
  • Effective English communication (read, write, speak, and understand).
  • Ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS preferred
