About The Position

The Overnight Critical Care Pharmacist Specialist at Wesley Medical Center plays a vital role in developing and maintaining advanced clinical pharmacy services within adult critical care. This position involves leadership in pharmacy operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and collaborating with healthcare providers. The pharmacist will oversee ICU pharmacy operations and participate in the hospital's medication use system, demonstrating accountability for patient medication outcomes.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Kansas.
  • Current Pharmacist Liability Insurance.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through American Heart Association or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) verification course within 180 days of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) verification course within 180 days of hire.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) with a Pharmacy residency (PGY1) plus 1 year of ICU experience or 5 years of ICU experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Board Certified Critical Care Pharmacist or other recognized specialty practice area.
  • Registered as a preceptor with the Kansas Board of Pharmacy.
  • Specialty residency training (PGY2).
  • Specialty fellowship training.
  • At least 3 years of ICU clinical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain state-of-the-art clinical pharmacy services within adult critical care.
  • Oversee all aspects of ICU pharmacy operations under the supervision of a Pharmacy Manager.
  • Participate in the hospital medication use system and ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Conduct medication use evaluations and analysis.
  • Provide high-level clinical services to patients and healthcare providers.
  • Actively participate in outstanding customer service and maintain respectful relationships with all customers.
