Requirements

  • Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy, B.S in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
  • Current licensure as a pharmacist in practicing state

Nice To Haves

  • Hospital pharmacy experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and evaluate physician orders to prepare, calculate, and dispense medications per state and federal regulations.
  • Identify and report suspected adverse drug reactions promptly and accurately.
  • Support formulary management through therapeutic interchange and rational drug selection.
  • Review patient medication profiles for allergies, interactions, and duplications while verifying orders.
  • Oversee daily operations and assist in supervising technicians, interns, and support staff.
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements, professional standards, and hospital quality policies.
  • Collaborate with physicians and nurses to clarify orders and ensure safe medication use.
  • Provide drug information and education to healthcare professionals and pharmacy students.
  • Utilize computer systems and technology to enhance pharmaceutical care.
  • Accurately fill prescriptions in compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Prepare and dispense IV admixture solutions using aseptic technique in sterile preparation areas.
