About The Position

The Pharmacist at Glens Falls Hospital is responsible for ensuring the safe and appropriate use of medications, optimizing pharmaceutical care for patients, and providing authoritative drug information to healthcare professionals and patients. This role includes supervising Pharmacy Technicians and coordinating the timely manufacturing and dispensing of pharmaceuticals.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy from an accredited program.
• Current, active license to practice pharmacy in New York State or eligibility to reciprocate licensure from another state.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interprets, reviews and evaluates medication orders for optimal drug therapy.
• Dispenses medications by ensuring accuracy in bulk medications and pyxis fills and refills.
• Participates in process improvement teams to enhance financial viability and build relationships within the department.
