Requirements

  • Pharmacist credentialed from the Maryland Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD.) degree from an accredited pharmacy program.
  • Current license as a pharmacist in the state of Maryland.
  • Two years clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and medication therapy management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy software systems and technology.
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Board certification in pharmacotherapy or other relevant specialty.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) systems.
  • Knowledge of medication reconciliation processes and best practices.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a pharmacy setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assure the appropriate selection, dosing, administering, and dispensing of medication order.
  • Review and assess medications order to identify, prevent and resolve potential and actual drug related problems.
  • Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate.
  • Compound and dispense medication for accurate delivery to patients.
  • Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
  • Communicate with physician and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.
  • Oversee technical personnel who assist in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications and supplies.
  • Assist with academic function such as serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students.
  • May float to provide coverage of pharmacy needs.
  • Provide patient counseling efficiently and effectively when required.
