About The Position

The Pharmacist Supervisor-Hospital at Mercyhealth is responsible for maintaining a professionally operating pharmacy and serving as a role model. This position primarily involves staffing as a hospital pharmacist, with the potential to work in other pharmacy operations functions to support the department. The supervisor is expected to be an expert hospital pharmacist, leveraging comprehensive knowledge and experience. Key aspects of the role include staff development and education in hospital pharmacy, participation in formulating pharmacy policies and procedures, and continuous professional development through literature review, continuing education, and self-evaluation. The supervisor also oversees partner training, ensures adherence to annual education and certification requirements, collaborates with management on daily operations, assists with performance appraisals, and facilitates problem resolution. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy program
  • Wisconsin/Illinois license
  • Computer experience, including internet and email.
  • Strong accuracy skills
  • Excellent interpretive/analytical skills for pharmaceutical calculations for drug dosage, IV rates, etc

  • Leadership/Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a professionally operating pharmacy and conducts self as a role model.
  • Staff primarily as a hospital pharmacist but may be required to work in other functions of the pharmacy operations in support of the department.
  • Is an expert hospital pharmacist who relies on skills of comprehensive knowledge and experience.
  • Provides staff development and education in area of hospital pharmacy.
  • Participates in formulating pharmacy policies and procedures in the provision of pharmaceutical care.
  • Maintains practice by ongoing professional literature review, continuing education and self-evaluation.
  • Maintains oversight of partner training, adherence to annual education and certification requirements.
  • Collaborates with manager on oversight of daily operations.
  • Assists with partner performance appraisal.
  • Facilitates problem resolution.
