About The Position

The Pharmacist Staff I position involves providing pharmaceutical services to the hospital's inpatients and outpatients. The role includes compounding and dispensing pharmaceutical preparations, acting as a source of drug information for the healthcare team, accurately reviewing and interpreting physician orders, entering medication orders into the computer, monitoring for stat medications, and checking the accuracy of tasks performed by others. The pharmacist must be able to prepare complex pharmaceutical admixtures and maintain a professional image in communication, appearance, and conduct. Additionally, the pharmacist is expected to maintain a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduation from a pharmacy program with at least a B.S. degree required.
• Valid license to practice pharmacy in the State of California.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Nice To Haves

• Pharmacy experience or graduation from an ASHP-accredited residency program preferred.
• Fulfills mandatory stroke education requirements per certification agency.
