About The Position

Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Specialty Pharmacist to join our team! Position Summary: The purpose of this position is to improve population based and patient specific medication related outcomes through collaboration with a multi-disciplinary medical team in the ambulatory setting. The pharmacist assumes a primary responsibility and accountability for the provision of safe and effective drug therapy and other medication management services intended to achieve outcomes related to the mitigation or prevention of disease, reduction of patients' symptoms, prevention of adverse drug events and improvement of patients' quality of life. The Specialty Pharmacist will obtain and review prescription orders, and consult with patients and care teams on their safe and effective use. Supervises and checks work performed by ancillary personnel. Maintains familiarity with processing and coverage details of the various insurances. HealthPartners Specialty Pharmacy focuses on oncology along with several other specialty departments within the organization. What is Specialty Pharmacy? Specialty Pharmacies focus on specialty medications used to treat complex conditions. Requirements

  • Candidates must have a current Minnesota Pharmacist license.

Nice To Haves

  • Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification
  • Demonstrate knowledge in pharmacodynamics, and pharmacokinetics, pathophysiology and therapeutic disease states commonly found in ambulatory and oncology patients.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Management - Ensuring appropriate and optimized therapy, navigating drug interactions, monitoring labs, and conducting patient education.
  • Prior Authorizations - Assisting in the completion and follow-up of medication prior authorizations.
  • Physician Partnership - Answering incoming questions from clinicians regarding drug therapy.
  • Prescription fulfillment - Complying with all State and Federal requirements for medication fulfillment.
