About The Position

The Pharmacist position at Emory Healthcare involves staffing in the Specialty Pharmacy and other outpatient retail pharmacy locations. Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure in Georgia.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
• One year of hospital experience preferred or a new graduate under contract through the Emory tuition program.

• PGY1 residency with skills to advance to Clinical Pharmacist II.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, compounds, and dispenses medications, ensuring accuracy and integrity prior to issuance.
• Verifies accuracy and appropriateness of all completed medication orders.
• Ensures accurate preparation of sterile products by pharmacy technicians following proper techniques.
• Utilizes nomograms and departmental guidelines for medication-related recommendations.
• Participates in patient education regarding medication use, adverse reactions, and drug interactions.
