About The Position

Functions as a pharmacist as defined by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners. Responsible for providing all aspects of pharmaceutical care for patients served within our health system. Performs assignments and projects as directed by the Pharmacy Management Team. Will perform functions across all UnityPoint Health – Des Moines retail locations.

Requirements

  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or B.S. Pharmacy with equivalent clinical experience
  • Completion of an ASHP PGY-1 pharmacy residency in community practice or ambulatory care desirable
  • Experience: Must be able to proficiently read, write and speak English
  • Proficiency in navigating the electronic medical record
  • One or more years of community pharmacy experience preferred
  • One or more years of hospital pharmacy experience desirable
  • License(s)/Certification(s): Must maintain a current license to practice pharmacy in Iowa and be in good standing with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners
  • Must attain a license to practice pharmacy in Iowa within six months of employment if not currently licensed
  • Must be directly supervised by a licensed pharmacist until Iowa Pharmacist license is obtained
  • Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
