About The Position

The position is responsible for ensuring the workflow of the retail pharmacy is maintained efficiently. This includes timely filling of prescriptions, accurate maintenance of patient profiles, and addressing any prescription adjudication issues. The role also involves ordering medications and supplies, maintaining inventory, checking prescriptions for accuracy, profiling and transcribing medication orders, dispensing medications, providing drug information, and improving performance and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Current active registration and licensure with the State of New Jersey Board of Pharmacy.
• Previous retail pharmacy experience (2+ years) preferred.
• Previous retail pharmacy leadership role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the workflow of the retail pharmacy is maintained efficiently.
• Fill prescriptions in a timely manner and maintain accurate patient profiles.
• Adjudicate prescriptions and act upon rejections.
• Order medications and supplies through approved vendors and maintain inventory.
• Check prescriptions for accuracy and make necessary corrections to patient profiles.
• Review patient profiles to assure appropriate therapy based on specific information.
• Transcribe medication orders accurately and timely, verifying therapy, medication, route, dose, and frequency.
• Dispense medications and miscellaneous items accurately and promptly.
• Process requests via phone, window, fax, and computer professionally.
• Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and patients.
• Handle problems/issues independently and seek opportunities for improvement.
