Pharmacist Resident - CA
About The Position
The Pharmacist Resident is an active participant in an intensive 12 month post-graduate year one (PGY1) training program to develop extensive knowledge and clinical skills used to provide effective pharmaceutical care. The pharmacist resident functions as a clinical pharmacist, participating in clinical, operational, and administrative activities designed to assist in applying formal theoretical education and research to clinical patient situations. The resident is responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, is eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
Requirements
- Graduation from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) approved school of pharmacy with a BS, MS, or Pharm D degree, including didactic courses and experiential rotations in the clinical aspects of pharmaceutical care.
- Active Pharmacy Intern license if required by the state
- BLS-CPR
- Obtain Active Pharmacist License in good standing in the state in which the employee works required within 3 months - once pharmacist license obtained, Intern Pharmacist is no longer required for tracking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to the pharmacy profession.
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, standards and techniques relating to the compounding and dispensing of medications.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of pharmaceutical practice within the acute and ambulatory settings
- Skills in multidisciplinary team involvement with direct patient care
- Computer applications such as Microsoft Office
