We are looking for a Per Diem Pharmacist to help during busy times and cover vacations if available. Hours will vary dependent on availability of candidate(s) and need of company. Typical days are Monday-Friday, times typically range from 7a-5p dependent on company need with some Saturday help needed at times. The Per Diem Pharmacist must have a broad knowledge of practice and be skilled in the techniques required to order, stock, and package and process medications in a pharmacy. The candidate will possess a valid California pharmacist license. The candidate will be designated by the Pharmacist-in-Charge for supervising the drug dispensing process. The candidate will be knowledgeable of all applicable laws and regulations, as well as the accreditation standards and practices, which govern pharmacies. The candidate must have the ability to handle stressful situations for an extended amount of time and must possess good interpersonal skills as demonstrated by the ability to communicate ideas’, thoughts and concepts. Must also be able to maintain accuracy and confidentiality even in stressful or emergency situations. Once offer made, Criminal background check, drug screen, License and HHS/OIG Exclusions List must be cleared prior to employment. Directly oversees the company’s drug distribution and refill process. Ensure that policies and procedures are being followed by pharmacy staff. Facilitate effective operations of the company’s home respiratory medications program. Validate all physician orders per regulatory and accreditation standards and company policy. Oversees and ensures that all necessary paperwork and documentation is completed according to policies and procedures, laws, and regulations. Responsible for documenting all clinical pharmacist interventions in the company’s proprietary database and keeping accurate patient records in accordance with law and regulation and standards of practice. Ensures that the best interest of the patients’ safety and well-being are maintained. Assist PIC with meeting the goals of the company. Ensure that inventories are maintained at an appropriate level and are available to meet current growth and demand. Ensure that medications are dispensed safely and appropriately (per FDA/BOP guidelines). Participates in recurrent and continuing education as required. Maintain strict confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations. Follow company policies and procedures, and accreditation guidelines. Participate in ongoing in-services and department meetings. Maintain open communication channels between management and co-workers. All other duties as assigned by department manager or leadership personnel.
