This position is per diem and will work 4 or 8 hour shifts during pharmacy operating hours. Monday to Friday 8a-8:30 Saturdays 8a-2p Locations: 8405 Beverly blvd, 90048; 5205 Melrose Ave, 90038

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a retail or community pharmacy required.
  • Pharmacy school: MPharm. or PharmD.
  • CA Registered Pharmacist
  • Excellent customer service skills including patience in helping clinic patients who may have language, vision, hearing or literacy challenges.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish and/or Tagalog/Farsi language highly preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for serving patients of the SCC pharmacy or dispensary, including accurately filling prescription orders and managing the dispensing function, consulting with patients and prescribers about medication regimens, providing pharmacist care and performing patient consultations on drug therapies.
  • Provide appropriate support to pharmacy technicians including directing technicians’ workflow and verifying their order entries, preparations and labeling of pharmaceuticals.
  • Actively participate in pharmacy purchases and inventory management in compliance with CA Pharmacy Laws.
  • Ensure accurate electronic billing of medications dispensed to insured patients, according to PBM contracts.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance activities including documenting patient safety issues and recommending processes to improve systems in the pharmacy.
  • Perform trouble shooting when problems arise and refer to Pharmacist-in-charge as appropriate.
  • Maintain pharmacological knowledge through educational workshops, continuing education, professional publications, etc.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with patients and physicians by providing courteous, professional and efficient service.
  • Handle patient information with utmost respect and confidentiality according to various regulations and Clinic policies and procedures.
  • Handle patients’ complaints or concerns in a professional manner. Refer patient to appropriate management staff for handling or resolution of issues.
  • Maintain a professional, friendly, and courteous attitude in the performance of the duties.
