Position Summary: Compounds and dispenses medication pursuant to physician orders; monitors drug therapy for appropriateness of drug, dose, route and duration of therapy; and screens for drug interactions, compatibilities and contraindications. Provides drug information to physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and patients.

Requirements

  • Per licensure requirements.
  • For third shift, one year experience in hospital pharmacy is required. For all other shifts, previous hospital experience is highly desirable.
  • Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergency requests, communicate effectively, and work independently.
  • Must be able to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
