About The Position

This role supports both operational and clinical oncology pharmacy services by ensuring the safe preparation, dispensing, and management of medications, including sterile hazardous and investigational therapies. The position provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care through medication therapy management, clinical review of oncology regimens, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Responsibilities include oversight of sterile compounding operations and inventory management, use of IV workflow technology, support of investigational drug services, and partnership with specialty pharmacy and medication assistance programs to improve access and adherence. The role also contributes to the development and implementation of clinical practices and treatment plans within EPIC/Beacon, serves as a resource for providers, precepts pharmacy learners, and practices in full compliance with all regulatory, legal, and professional standards. Provides optimal pharmaceutical care for patients through dispensing prescribed medications, monitoring patient medication therapies, providing consultation and education to patients about medications and their use. Provides services to patients and is the medication subject matter expert as part of the interdisciplinary care team. May advise physicians and other health practitioners on the selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects of medications. The Lead Pharmacist shall provide onsite oversight involving the day-to-day operations, including supporting other staff pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy students or interns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
  • Doctoral/Ph.D. level advanced degree in Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Completion of an accredited residency program
  • 0 to 2 years identified pharmacy experience
  • 2+ years home infusion pharmacy experience including therapeutic drug monitoring and IV admixture, and medication compounding
  • Licensed Pharmacist - MN Board of Pharmacy required upon hire if working in MN
  • Licensed Pharmacist - WI Dept of Safety & Professional Services required upon hire if working in WI
  • Medium Work: Lifting weight up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 25 lbs. frequently

Nice To Haves

  • Pharmacist board certification if employed in a metro setting
  • Completion of an accredited residency program pharmacist board certification if employed in a community setting
  • 2+ years hospital pharmacy experience or 2+ years of retail pharmacy experience
