About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients of all ages through medication distribution, clinical services, and drug information support. You’ll collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality medication management while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and safety standards. This position includes both centralized and decentralized, unit-based patient care and offers an excellent opportunity for new graduates or pharmacists transitioning from retail or operational pharmacy settings into a clinical environment.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • New graduates encouraged to apply
  • Experience in retail or operational pharmacy settings acceptable
  • Maryland Pharmacist License required or eligibility to obtain licensure
  • Pharmacists pending licensure must obtain a Maryland license within 4 months of hire (or graduation, if later)
  • Pending licensure pharmacists must work under supervision and may not perform pharmacist acts until licensed
  • Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage interruptions in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Strong organizational, teaching, and mentoring skills

  • Regular exposure to medications, hazardous drugs, and biological materials

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, verify, and dispense medications in accordance with provider orders, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee and support Pharmacy Technicians to ensure accuracy, safety, and timely medication preparation
  • Ensure compliance with USP 797 and all state and federal pharmacy regulations
  • Monitor medication therapy for appropriateness, interactions, allergies, contraindications, and dosing
  • Participate in antimicrobial stewardship and medication management initiatives
  • Collect medication histories and support medication reconciliation processes
  • Provide accurate drug information and education to providers, staff, patients, and families
  • Document clinical interventions and pharmacy activities clearly and accurately
  • Report and respond to adverse drug reactions and medication errors
  • Participate in formulary management and adherence
  • Support department quality improvement initiatives and organizational goals
  • Mentor and train pharmacy staff, students, and interns
  • Participate in daily huddles, department meetings, and assigned initiatives
