About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) to oversee pharmacy operations within a closed-door Long-Term Care Pharmacy. This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, directing daily workflow, and providing clinical oversight to guarantee safe and effective medication delivery.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • 2+ years of experience in long-term care or institutional pharmacy settings preferred
  • Experience with IV & Compounding

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to CMS, DEA, FDA, and state Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Maintain pharmacy licensure, credentialing, and readiness for audits and inspections.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance programs for pharmacy services.
  • Supervise pharmacists, technicians, and delivery staff to ensure accurate and timely medication dispensing.
  • Oversee medication packaging, labeling, and data entry processes.
  • Manage inventory, including DEA-compliant handling of controlled substances.
  • Evaluate prescriptions for dosage accuracy, interactions, and appropriateness.
  • Support medication regimen reviews and optimize therapy for residents.
  • Partner with nursing home administrators, Directors of Nursing, and medical directors to align clinical and operational goals.
  • Address billing, documentation, and workflow concerns with business office teams.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, in-service training, and ongoing education for pharmacy staff.
  • Coordinate schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels.
