We are seeking a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to lead operations for a growing Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy supporting assisted living and long-term care communities across Colorado. In this role, you'll combine clinical oversight with operational leadership, guiding a dedicated pharmacy team while ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient pharmacy services for vulnerable patient populations. Ensures that daily medication dispensing function runs smoothly and efficiently. Actively communicates with the Director, Pharmacy Operations to identify and resolve production-related issues in a timely fashion. Ensures that the pharmacy is compliant with all State and Federal laws and regulations, as well as performs all the functions of a staff pharmacist. Oversees controlled substances and is responsible to the State Board of Pharmacy for Compliance with Regulations and Statutes. Requirements

  • Active Colorado Pharmacist License (required)
  • Proven leadership, communication, and decision-making skills

  • Bachelor's Degree (Pharmacy) or PharmD. required
  • State Pharmacist License required without restrictions

  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) experience preferred
  • Long-Term Care pharmacy experience strongly preferred
  • 5+ years pharmacist experience preferred, preferably in high-volume pharmacy

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the Staff Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and manages daily production to ensure all duties are completed in a timely fashion to meet delivery schedules
  • Ensures workflow processes and staffing are designed to support accurate and timely prescription dispensing
  • Fully competent and able to perform Staff Pharmacist responsibilities; work as a scheduled pharmacist on the floor among the staff at least 75% of the time
  • Communicates regularly on a daily basis with the Director, Pharmacy Operations regarding issues or concerns that impact timely production, safety, or compliance
  • Ensures that pharmacy processes and record keeping systems are in compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations
  • Ensures that newly hired Pharmacists are trained
  • Assists the Director, Pharmacy Operations in staffing/scheduling to ensure appropriate licensed coverage as required by Board of Pharmacy
  • Oversees all CII ordering, inventory control systems, and dispensing to ensure proper record keeping and dispensing within State and Federal regulations
  • Maintains 797-Compliance program to include proper training, documentation and program revision as necessary
  • Evaluate workflow processes and implement changes as necessary to achieve greater efficiency, safety and/or regulatory compliance
  • Assist with pharmacy student evaluations, assignments and daily duties
  • Work collaboratively with other supervisors/functional areas to keep work flowing smoothly and efficiently; provides input for Pharmacist, Fulfillment and Data Entry reviews
  • Occasional customer relations duties as assigned
  • Special projects or other duties as assigned
  • Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed
