About The Position

Inpatient Pharmacist - Dubuque, IA Join our dedicated pharmacy team and make a meaningful impact in patient care. We are hiring: Weekends Only Saturday & Sunday, for 32 hours per pay period 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, with occassional flexing to evenings as needed What We Offer: Competitive compensation Team-focused work environment Opportunity for professional growth Under the general direction of the Manger Pharmacy Inpatient Operations the Pharmacist evaluates physician orders for appropriateness, completes order verification, monitors medication effectiveness and safety, validates products prior to dispensing and assists with inventory management. The Pharmacist will provide patient care services and also serve as a resource for drug information to the medical and nursing staff. Requirements

  • Education: B.S. Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • License(s)/Certification(s): Must be licensed or obtain licensure to practice Pharmacy in Iowa.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience: Appropriate pharmacy setting experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews medication orders and patient profiles for drug/drug and drug/allergy interactions and therapeutic duplications.
  • Makes recommendations to providers and documents interventions.
  • Participates in monitoring medications for safety and effectiveness.
  • Perform medication verification as required by law.
  • Oversee technician preparation of medication orders including hospital compounded medications.
  • Participates in product selection, procurement and receiving of pharmaceuticals.
  • Provides medication related education and information to providers.
