About The Position

Join our dedicated pharmacy team and make a meaningful impact in patient care. We are hiring for the position of Inpatient Pharmacist in Dubuque, IA. This role offers part-time weekend package options, including a Weekend Package of 48 hours per pay period (Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm) and a Weekends Only option of 32 hours per pay period (Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm). The Pharmacist will evaluate physician orders for appropriateness, complete order verification, monitor medication effectiveness and safety, validate products prior to dispensing, and assist with inventory management. The Pharmacist will provide patient care services and serve as a resource for drug information to the medical and nursing staff, while also overseeing Pharmacy Technicians working under their direction.

Requirements

• B.S. Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
• Must be licensed or obtain licensure to practice Pharmacy in Iowa.

Nice To Haves

• Appropriate pharmacy setting experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews medication orders and patient profiles for drug/drug and drug/allergy interactions and therapeutic duplications.
• Makes recommendations to providers and documents interventions.
• Participates in monitoring medications for safety and effectiveness.
• Perform medication verification as required by law.
• Oversee technician preparation of medication orders including hospital compounded medications.
• Participates in product selection, procurement and receiving of pharmaceuticals.
• Provides medication related education and information to providers.
