About The Position

The Pharmacy Department has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Pharmacist Hematology/Oncology to work in our UHealth Hollywood location. The Pharmacist compounds and dispenses prescribed drugs in a healthcare facility environment. Also, an employee in this position transfers prescriptions, handles incoming physician calls, logs data into applicable databases, and performs drug utilization review. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Implements and maintains procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policies and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal. Compounds and dispenses medications, as prescribed by doctors and dentists, by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients. Calculates the volume of medication required to produce the desired results to ensure proper dosages. Assesses the identity, strength, and purity of medications. Reviews prescriptions to ensure accuracy, ascertain the needed ingredients, and evaluate suitability. Provides information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage. Analyzes prescription trends to monitor patient compliance and prevent inappropriate usage or harmful interactions. Maintains records, such as pharmacy and system files, patient profiles, inventories, control records for radioactive nuclei, and registries for poisons, narcotics, and controlled drugs. Advises customers on the selection of medication brands, medical equipment, and healthcare supplies. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Requirements

  • Pharm.D. degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy
  • Requires current licensure in good standing in the State of Florida
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
