About The Position

The Pharmacist (Hybrid) is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing store-level operations while also serving as the clinical and compliance leader for Shangri-La's expanding hybrid medical model in Connecticut. This position will initially function in a General Manager-style operational capacity, ensuring strong execution across staffing, sales performance, customer experience, compliance, inventory accuracy, and store performance. As the hybrid model expands, the role is expected to transition toward a primary focus on medical patient consultations across multiple locations, training staff to qualify for "Dispensary Tech" certification, and supervising all documentation and compliance workflows tied to medical sales.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in Connecticut
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of retail pharmacy management or leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of regulated environments and compliance-driven workflows
  • Proven ability to lead teams and coach staff with professionalism and consistency
  • High level of integrity, maturity, and reliability
  • Ability to travel between Connecticut retail locations as needed

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily store operations to ensure consistency, professionalism, and compliance.
  • Lead, coach, and support store leadership teams including Assistant General Managers, Leads, and Associates.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and corrective action processes as needed.
  • Build and maintain a positive, accountable, and performance-driven store culture.
  • Establish clear expectations and hold leaders accountable for execution on the sales floor.
  • Review and analyze store performance indicators including conversion, average spend, UPT, loyalty engagement, labor efficiency, and sales trends.
  • Execute promotions and develop action plans to address performance gaps.
  • Support labor planning and payroll efficiency through strong scheduling and operational decision-making.
  • Ensure a welcoming, compliant, and efficient customer experience at all times.
  • Monitor service flow, staffing levels, and wait times to optimize throughput and satisfaction.
  • Handle escalated customer concerns professionally and in alignment with company standards.
  • Reinforce customer service expectations and professionalism across all team members.
  • Maintain full compliance with Connecticut pharmacy regulations, cannabis regulations, and internal company standards.
  • Ensure all pharmacy-related and medical sales documentation is accurate, complete, and consistently maintained.
  • Serve as a point of contact for pharmacy compliance audits, state inspections, and documentation follow-up.
  • Maintain a high standard of workflow accountability and documentation integrity.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed consistently across all Connecticut retail locations.
  • Conduct medical consultations with patients in accordance with Connecticut regulations and company standards.
  • Provide patient education and product guidance within the scope of Connecticut medical program requirements.
  • Maintain professionalism, discretion, and clarity in all patient-facing interactions.
  • Support store teams with questions related to product categories, dosing education, and responsible cannabis use.
  • Train and support staff to qualify for "Dispensary Tech" certification.
  • Ensure training standards are consistent and scalable across multiple Connecticut locations.
  • Reinforce technician workflow expectations, documentation requirements, and medical sales protocols.
  • Maintain accountability for inventory accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversee inventory movement, storage, intake, and documentation standards.
  • Ensure delivery intakes are completed accurately and in compliance with requirements.
  • Review and approve required inventory forms, logs, and reporting as needed.
  • Ensure cycle counts, spot checks, and audits are completed on schedule.
  • Lead and oversee inventory discrepancy investigations as needed.
  • Review transaction data, inventory records, and supporting documentation to identify root causes.
  • Partner with leadership teams, compliance, HR, and security as needed for investigation support.
  • Implement corrective actions, retraining, and accountability steps in accordance with company standards.
  • Monitor trends to reduce recurring discrepancies and operational risk.
  • Create and approve schedules aligned with labor budgets, sales volume, and traffic trends.
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, and staffing coverage.
  • Address attendance issues, performance gaps, and coverage needs promptly to maintain operational efficiency.
